James Bell will be the man in charge when Rovers welcome Oxford United to the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday.
The Sheffield and Hallamshire-based official was promoted to the national list of referees in the summer of 2020 and has so far taken charge of 18 matches, handing out 55 yellow cards and six reds.
This will be the first time he has taken charge of a Rovers match but his second trip to the Keepmoat Stadium.
Bell was part of the officiating team when Rovers in September 2019 when he was fourth official on that occasion while Martin Coy blew the whistle. On Saturday, it will be roles reversed as Coy will be fourth official.
He will be assisted by Anthony Da Costa and Stephen Wade.
