Robertson pleased to make Rovers debut

7 February 2021

Scott Robertson says he enjoyed helping Rovers to all three points against Oxford United in Sky Bet League One.

The Celtic loanee came on as a second-half substitute and marked his debut by seeing out a 3-2 victory at the Keepmoat Stadium.

He said: “It was good to get on and play a part in the second-half, the boys did really well to see the game out at the end.

“The manager has showed good faith in lads playing in different positions and he wanted me to do things a bit further forward.

“We came out after half-time and got the two goals which put us in a strong position and we never looked back from there.”

Robertson says the decision to join Rovers until the end of the season was an easy one after being impressed with the work done by Darren Moore at the club.

He added: “There was some interest at the start of the season before I went to Gillingham, but fortunately the clubs stayed in touch and I could sort the move out.

“I’ve had a good six months at this level, and I feel the experiences gained can help me during my time here.

“I’ve been really impressed with the manager and how he goes about things, and you can see why the team are doing so well.”
