Ellery Balcombe says his loan move to Rovers is a chance for him to show what he can do at Sky Bet League One level.
The goalkeeper has signed for the rest of the season from Sky Bet Championship side Brentford, and says he was pleased to get the deal done.
He said: “It was quite a quick turnaround, when I heard Doncaster were interested I saw it as a big opportunity for myself to develop.
“I like what Darren Moore is doing here and how the team plays so it was a no-brainer when I got the chance to come here.
“When you see the lads who’ve been here doing well it gave me that motivation to come here and do the same.”
Having got a couple of training sessions under his belt, Balcombe has his eyes on a potential debut in the Emirates FA Cup third round tie at Blackburn Rovers this weekend.
He added: “It would be nice to be involved in the FA Cup at the weekend, it’s a good challenge against higher league opposition.
“The lads have been doing well and hopefully I can get off to a good start with them and then kick on for the rest of the season.”
