More than 1,200 Rovers fans voted for Ellery Balcombe as their man of the match after his two penalty saves helped secure a win for Rovers at the LNER Stadium.
Balcombe has made a huge impression since joining Rovers at the beginning of the transfer window keeping three clean sheets in his four league appearances – his clean sheet on Saturday was undoubtedly the most impressive, however, as he not only saved two spot kicks he also pulled off an excellent stop when Conor McGrandles let fly from distance.
It was a stunning performance from the 21 year old who was deservedly given the man of the match honour.
