James Coppinger already has an extraordinary football CV but now he can add designer of the Doncaster Rovers 2020/21 third kit to list.
The gold, retro-style shirt which includes a black and white sash was launched on Boxing Day and – as has become the tradition with Rovers’ third shirts – LNER have kindly donated the front of shirt sponsorship to their partner charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
CALM are an award-winning mental health charity who are dedicated to preventing the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45, suicide and Coppinger – who has spoken up a lot about his own journey with mental health – says having the charity’s logo on the front added to how special this shirt is.
He said said: “I jumped at the opportunity to get involved, growing up I loved buying different shirts and looked out for them coming out.
“Having CALM as the shirt sponsor was massive for me, it adds to the whole experience with the job that they’re doing. I’ve had my own mental health issues in the past and it is pleasing to have them on there to promote all they are doing.”
