Lirak Hasani has joined National League North side Gateshead FC on loan until the end of the season as the youngster goes in search of regular game time.
The 18-year-old has made three appearances off the bench this season but Darren Moore believes that competing for a first-team place and getting regular minutes is key for the midfielder’s development.
“It’s another important year for Lirak and we thought it was right for him to go and get some real game time,” Moore said.
“He had a stop-start season last year and injuries prevailed with him but it’s the right thing now to send him somewhere where we can assess his progress and how he’s doing.
“He’s definitely been part of the squad this year and he was getting some time at the ends of games but instead of waiting for that time to build up gradually, let’s get him 90 minutes under his belt and get him playing at a good level.”
