Darren Moore says he is delighted with the acquisition of experience midfielder John Bostock.
The 29-year-old joins on an 18-month deal and will bolster Moore’s midfield options with a wealth of high level experience.
“He’s an exceptional player and one we’re really pleased to have on board,” said Moore.
“He’s got undoubtable ability and we knew about that when he was a youngster. But there’s still more than enough time for him to display those attributes that he’s got and he’s got a great opportunity to show them here at Rovers.
“He fits in with the culture and the DNA that we’ve tried to bring in at this football club over the last season and a half so we’re really, really pleased.
“There was a shortage in that midfield area and now we’ve got someone who will fill in that area and give us wonderful option in terms of his experience, his technical ability.”
Bostock has been without a club for a while but Moore says he’s looked sharp in training.
“We want to give him some training time but he is looking very, very good but we need to make sure that when he comes in he stays in especially with the fixture list as it is.
“I’ve known John a long time so I knew where he was in terms of returning home from France and I just thought he might be an ideal one for us.
“He wants to come and play for Doncaster Rovers – a wonderful appetite from him. We’ve just got to work together now to make sure we give him the right platform to perform.
“If it was to go well and he finds his rhythm here – to get someone of that ability and experience is a good one for us.”
