Darren Moore believes his players will have learned a lot from defeat at the London Stadium in the Emirates FA Cup.
Rovers were defeated 4-0 by Premier League outfit West Ham but the experience of testing themselves against top-level opposition was invaluable.
“We gave ourselves a mountain to climb after the first few minutes and the players will have learned that when you come up against that level of opposition that you need to be more safe and secure with the ball,” Moore said.
“The first couple of the goals were mistakes my ourselves and ultimately we got punished by the quality opposition we were up against.”
Despite the final result, Moore believes Rovers can be proud of the progress they’ve made in recent seasons.
“I think the boys grew into the game, but by the time we found our feet the game was away from us,” he added.
“There are times in the game when we did play through them and we got into the final third.
“As a club, we’re on a journey and we’ve made huge strides but it was a bridge too far on Saturday and we’ll learn a lot from it.”
