Samuel Barrott will be the man in charge when Rovers travel to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.
Barrott was promoted to the National List of Referees in the summer of 2020 and has taken charge of 16 matches this season mostly across Sky Bet League One and Two.
This will be the second time he has overseen an FA Cup match in the current campaign - in November he presided over a 6-2 home victory for Lincoln City against Forest Green Rovers.
That wasn’t the only remarkable score line Barrott has been involved in. He had the whistle for Fleetwood Town’s 5-1 win over Plymouth Argyle, a 4-2 game between Crewe Alexandra and Swindon Town and 4-3 match between Wigan Athletic and Burton Albion.
Interestingly, Barrott was part of the refereeing team on Rovers’ last visit to Ewood Park in August. He was fourth official on that occasion.
On Saturday, Barrot will be assisted by Andrew Fox and Geoffrey Liddle. Ollie Yates will be the fourth official.
