Fejiri Okenabirhie was delighted that his double helped secure a 2-1 win at Swindon Town in Sky Bet League One.
The No.9 scored twice before half-time at the County Ground, to help Rovers to another crucial three points.
He said: “It was a big three points and another good team performance, we started the game really well and deserved the win.
“I’m always happy to score and it was good that the goals got us the win in the end after a battling second-half display.
“We weren’t able to train on Thursday because of the snow but the performance here shows that we give it everything no matter what.”
After playing out wide in recent games, Okenabirhie says he’s enjoyed being able to play with more freedom on the flanks.
He added: “It’s different playing out wide but I don’t mind it, I’ve done it before at previous clubs and it allows me to have more licence in my movement.
“Playing wide you have to do work defensively as well, and that is all part of the team ethic we have here in doing everything to win.
“I’m a forward at heart so the goals are important to me, and when the team wins that makes it even better.”
