Rovers will travel to West Ham for the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup knowing that victory would mean a trip to Manchester United or Liverpool in the fifth.
The fourth round tie against West Ham will take place at The London Stadium on the weekend of January 23 and will be the first time the two teams have met since a 1-1 draw in the Championship in 2012. James Coppinger's 73rd minutes equaliser earned Rovers a point at Upton Park on that day.
The Premier League outfit entered the competition at the third round beating Stockport County on Monday evening to advance.
Details of the tie will be released in due course.
To ease fixture congestion, the fifth round was also drawn on Monday night and victory against David Moyes men offers up the mouthwatering prospect of a trip to Anfield or Old Trafford. The fifth round will be a midweek fixture and is due to take place week commencing February 8.
Rovers’ progression to the fourth round means that our Sky Bet League One home match against Burton Albion will be rearranged.
