Jordy Hiwula believes he can add pace and goals to Rovers after signing a two-year deal with the club.
The winger says Rovers style of play and conversations with former players were what convinced him South Yorkshire was the place for him.
“I’m really excited to be here,” he said.
“I’ve spoken to a few players who’ve played here previously, and they all said what a good club it is and that I’d really enjoy my football so that’s what convinced me sign here.
“I’ve always kept an eye on Rovers over the seasons and even last season when I came here with Portsmouth, I felt like the style of play is something that would really suit me.
“The way the manager wants to play was a big factor and he’s done really well at other clubs he’s been at so I’m looking forward to working under him.”
At 26, Hiwula has made 250 career appearances and has a promotion from Sky Bet League One on his CV and he’s hoping that he can get another with Rovers.
“Hopefully, I’ll bring some energy and pace in the front line and goals too,” he added.
“I feel it’s a big season for me personally as well as the team.
“I’ve been promoted from this league with a previous club so I’m hoping to come in, help the boys out and hopefully we can do it again this season.”
