Rovers will take on Sky Bet Championship side Sheffield United in the penultimate game of their pre-season campaign in preparation for the 2021/22 Sky Bet League One campaign.
The game will take place at the Keepmoat Stadium on Wednesday July 28, with a 7pm kick-off.
Richie Wellens’ side take on Slavisa Jokanovic’s men five days after facing Premier League side Newcastle United on home soil, before travelling to take on Sky Bet League Two outfit Harrogate Town on August 1.
The two sides last met in a pre-season friendly back in July 2018, with the Blades winning 2-0 on that occasion thanks to goals from David McGoldrick and Billy Sharp.
