Rovers U18s’ pre-season friendlies against Mexborough Athletic and Thorne Colliery have been postponed.
This comes as many of the youth team players are currently required to self-isolate in line with Government guidelines with U18s training suspended until July 19.
Academy manager Tony Cook said: “Unfortunately, many of our players have been classified as a close contact of others who have tested positive, and this has affected our ability to field a team for our friendlies. However, we look forward to rearranging the games when possible.
“While the players are at home, they will continue to receive education as normal via online platforms and we have daily video check-ins with each of them to ensure they are well. They also have home training programmes to keep them busy during this period of isolation.”
Details for the rearranged fixtures will be released in due course.
