Richie Wellens provided an update on Tom Anderson after the skipper was forced out of Saturday’s friendly at Rossington Main during the warm up.
“Tom Anderson got a knock in training, just an impact injury, so we’re going to get that scanned because they is a little bit of swelling there,” Wellens said.
“The main thing is to get him back. If he misses three or four days of training then that’s ok, but if we risk him and he misses two or three weeks training that’s not ok. He’s going to play a pivotal part in this squad.
“I’ve said all along, he’s the best centre back in the league for me and he’s going to be instrumental in nurturing a lot of young players that we’ve got.”
