Rovers Legends were beaten on penalties by Sheffield Wednesday Legends after a 6-6 draw at the Keepmoat Stadium, in a game which raised tens of thousands of pounds for Doncaster-based charity Eve Merton Dreams Trust.

More than 2,850 supporters attended, marking the return of crowds for live football at the stadium for the first time in 15 months.

Paul Green scored twice for Rovers, with Chris Brown, Gary McSheffrey, Colin Cramb and Matt Mills netting the others.

Marcus Tudgay scored four times for Wednesday, with Ross Wallace adding the other two.

The game saw club legends line-up alongside supporters from each club, who had raised thousands of pounds in order to play.
