Bogle leading from the front

25 March 2021

Omar Bogle says he’s enjoyed being a leader within the Rovers dressing room since joining the club in January.

At the age of 27, Bogle is one of the more experienced players in the squad, and says manager Andy Butler has been encouraging him to lead by example on and off the pitch.

He said: “I came in and the boys welcomed me in straight away, the manager gives me the confidence to be a leader within the squad.

“He wants me to make my presence felt in the dressing room and I don’t think I’ve had that for a long time.

“I’m happy here, I’m playing consistently and I feel appreciated by my manager and the lads which is important to me.”

Having returned from injury in Rovers’ draw at Gillingham last time out, Bogle is looking forward to having an important part to play in the last 12 games of the season.

He said: “It was frustrating to get injured because I felt physically I was there or there abouts so it halted my momentum a little bit.

“I’m back now and I’ve got everything I need here to kick on again and get back to my best, which means scoring goals and playing well for the team.”
