Andy Butler says he will do all he can to bring success to Rovers after being appointed as manager until the end of the season.
Butler was handed the job after the departure of Darren Moore to Sky Bet Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, and says he jumped at the chance.
He said: “I’d like to thank the club for trusting me with this responsibility, I’m giving this my all because it means everything to me.
“I can’t wait to get started and have the excitement of a matchday where the team represent myself as a manager.
“I’ve learnt bits of information from every manager I’ve worked under and I want to combine all that with my own style.”
Ahead of his first game in charge against Portsmouth on Tuesday night, Butler is hoping to put a smile on supporters’ faces by getting off to a positive start.
He added: “We start with a tough game against Portsmouth and it’s down to us to make this a really tough place to come.
“The fans have always been good to me and hopefully they can continue to get behind us with me in charge of the team.
“It’s not going to be all smooth along the way but I will give everything for this club to bring positive results.”
