Andy Butler is expecting to welcome back a quartet of players for the trip to Gillingham in Sky Bet League One this weekend.
Reece James, Omar Bogle, Josh Sims and Scott Robertson have all recovered from injury and are available for the game at Priestfield Stadium.
Midfielder AJ Greaves has also been passed fit after the knock that forced him off against Oxford United in midweek.
Saturday’s fixture comes too soon for John Bostock, while Arsenal loanee Tyreece John-Jules continues to work his way back to full fitness.
Butler said: “There is much better news on the injury front, the majority of the lads have come through really well which is something we needed.
“It’s a challenge to pick up injuries to key players and I think any squad losing that quality at one time would struggle.”
Jon Taylor remains a long-term absentee after Butler confirmed that he would miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
