Marc Edwards will be the man in charge when Rovers host Charlton Athletic on Friday.
He joined the National List of Referees in the summer of 2019 and has overseen one previous Rovers game – an EFL trophy group match vs Rotherham United.
That match ended in a 3-2 defeat for Rovers with no cards shown to either side.
In the current campaign, the man from Tyne and Wear has overseen 27 matches, handing out 89 yellow cards and one red.
On Friday, he will be assisted by Lisa Rachid and Joe Clark. The fourth official will be Peter Wright.
