Taylor to miss Plymouth clash

4 March 2021

Rovers manager Andy Butler says winger Jon Taylor will miss this weekend’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Plymouth Argyle.

Taylor left the field 28 minutes into the win over Portsmouth on Tuesday night with an ankle injury, after a heavy collision with defender Sean Raggett.

Butler said: “Tayls hasn’t had the result of his scan yet so we need to have a look at that, fortunately we’ve got a strong squad and players capable of stepping in.

“He’s not in contention for the weekend, which is a blow but as one door closes another one opens for someone else.”

There is positive news on the injury front for the new boss though, as Josh Sims is available for the game against Argyle after being forced off just past the hour-mark in midweek.

Arsenal loanee Tyreece John-Jules remains the only long-term absentee as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury suffered in January.
