Andy Butler praised his side’s counter-attacking play after they beat Rochdale 2-1 in Sky Bet League One.
Goals either side of half-time from Taylor Richards sealed all three points for Rovers at the Crown Oil Arena.
He said: “First-half we controlled the tempo of it, the final detail of the pass cost us a few opportunities but we were pleased to get the lead.
“Second-half it became a bit more open and either team could have had a goal or two more, so we’re happy to be coming away with three points.
“Rochdale play an expansive style of football which I felt worked in our favour and gave us opportunities on the counter.”
Richards’ double took his tally for the season to 11, and Butler says the Brighton & Hove Albion loanee was a constant threat
He added: “To score 11 goals this season is a great return for him, he’s an unbelievable talent with a good future ahead of him if he applies himself.
“He’s a young lad so dips in performances will come, but you have to keep encouraging him to push for more.”
