Taylor Richards was delighted that his double helped Rovers on their way to three points at Rochdale in Sky Bet League One.
The 20-year-old struck in both halves to secure the win against relegated Dale at the Crown Oil Arena.
He said: “The attacking play was good from us and we were a bit more ruthless than we have been in recent weeks.
“The first one I tried to make a run inside, Jason played a good ball into the box and fortunately the ball bounced into my path.
“For the second I’d spoken to Tyreece at half-time and mentioned that their full-back wasn’t tracking my runs, and that paid off with the ball through.”
Richards’ goals took him to 11 for the season in a Rovers shirt, and he says he’s thoroughly enjoyed his loan spell with the club.
He added: “I’ve had a good week personally, it’s probably what I needed after a couple of performances that didn’t reach my standards.
“This is all new to me and I’ve probably experienced more than most players in one season, the manager has changed and I’ve had ups and downs but I’ve really enjoyed it.
“I’ve loved my time here, the lads have all been brilliant and it’s been great getting to know so many different people.”
