Belles players have helped launch an innovative festive foodbank which will see them once again look to donate products to local Doncaster Foodbanks this Christmas.
In 2020, the Belles cancelled their annual Secret Santa and instead used the money they would usually spend on gifts to purchase much needed foodbank items.
As the cost of living in the UK continues to rise, the Belles have gone one step further this season and will be offering the chance for Belles and Doncaster Rovers fans the opportunity to support the campaign, as well as encouraging the Belles Regional Talent Centre to get involved.
For the Belles’ FA WNL Match on December 4, supporters will be able to donate a foodbank item at the entrance in lieu of payment for match entry.
Doncaster Rovers will be following suit for their Sky Bet League One match on December 7 with supporters able to receive a £5 discount on a full price match tickets by donating a foodbank item at the club.
The foodbank discount can only be accepted for in-person sales.
Advanced tickets can be purchased directly from the Club Doncaster Box Office.
For on-the-day sales at the Doncaster Rovers match, supporters will receive a voucher by dropping off their item at the designated point, which they can then use to receive their discount at the Box Office.
On-the-day sales at the Belles match will be handled at the ticket booth.
The offer will also be open to away fans at both match.
Currently, there is a particular need for the following items:
- Toothbrushes
- Sugar
- Small jars of coffee
- Drinking chocolate
- Toiletries
- Tinned potatoes
- Washing powder/tablets
- Dried milk
- Chocolate snacks
- Washing up liquid
- Nappies (specifically sizes 5 & 6)
- Tinned rice pudding
Also welcome are non-perishable food such as tinned: meat, fish, veg, tomatoes, soups, rice pudding, fruit and potatoes. Also cooking sauces, instant mash, instant nutritional microwave meals and rice, long life fruit juice, UHT long-life milk and drinking chocolate.
All donations should be in-date and unopened/unused.
There will be a maximum £5 discount per ticket.
