Chief executive thanks the Main Branch Supporters Club for recent donations

3 November 2021

Club Doncaster chief executive Gavin Baldwin has thanked the Main Branch Supporters Club for their recent donations which will be used across the club and Foundation.

As with previous donations from the Retford branch and the Viking Supporters Co-operative monies donated will be used to support improving fan offerings on matchday at the Keepmoat Stadium with a particular focus on the Belle Vue Bar and the family area. Some monies will also be ring-fenced to support a new project that will engage older supporters with non-match day midweek activity.

Gavin said: “I’d like to thank the Supporters Club for their generous contribution.

“As with monies received from the Retford Branch and the Viking Supporters Co-operative, this money will be going towards a Football Foundation project at the stadium supporting activities that help engage the club in the wider community, while also developing our fan park offering and our family area activities. Full details on this venture will be released prior to Christmas

“We understand that attending a match at the Keepmoat Stadium is much more than 90 minutes of football and this will allow us to focus on the full supporter experience.

"These projects will also help to create future fans while we are also focusing on senior supporters, with further monies put aside to support a new initiative supporting older members of the Doncaster Rovers family."

A second donation from the Supporters Club has been ringfenced to ensure the club – in conjunction with the Club Doncaster Foundation – continues to be an industry leader when it comes to community engagement.

Foundation chief executive officer John Davis added: “On behalf of the Foundation, we want to thank the Supporters Club for their continued support at this challenging time.

“Donations received from the Supporters Club help us to improve the lives of people across the borough via our existing provisions including our popular health and wellbeing provision, schools outreach work and our tackling loneliness programmes. These projects directly support Doncaster Rovers supporters and Doncaster residents”
