Tom O'Connor and Daniel Jebbison's second half goals sealed defeat for Rovers at Burton Albion.
The first half was fairly even and while Burton boasted more possession, Rovers looked like they could hit the home side on the break but Jordy Hiwula, Matt Smith and Aidan Barlow all fell foul of the assitant's flag.
An injury to Ben Close at half-time meant forced him off the field. Tom O'Connor scored direct from a free-kick soon after the break and Burton had two or three opportunities to extend their lead before actually scoring their second.
The assistant initially appeared to rule out Jebbison's goal but the referee overruled him to make the final score 2-0.
