Lirak Hasani spoke to the media following the 3-2 victory at Scunthorpe United in the Papa John’s Trophy.
The 19-year-old put on a man of the match display in the holding midfield role at the Sands Venue Stadium.
On his first start for the club:
“It’s my first 90 minutes for a long time, it was tough but I thought I did well and enjoyed the experience.
“The manager wanted me to bring energy and keep the ball moving so the gaps were filled.
“It feels like a long time coming after making my debut a while ago, now that I’ve got my first start I want to kick on.”
On getting through the group stage of the competition:
“It was good to get through to the next round, that was the aim and the boys are happy with it.
“We’re disappointed with conceding a couple of late goals so we’ll look at those and where they came from.
“It’s a great competition for the young lads and you know you’ll get a chance, it improves us all massively.”
