Hiwula: we have to respond

1 November 2021

Jordy Hiwula spoke to the media ahead of the trip to face Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night.

Rovers could move six points clear of their opponents with a win at the Mornflake Stadium.

On showing a reaction from the weekend:

“We didn’t play well on the day and the whole team have to respond to that on Tuesday.

“As a group the senior players have to make sure our voices are heard in the dressing room.

“Our away form needs to improve and the game tomorrow gives us a chance to do that.

“It has to come from within and we’re the only ones that can change the position that we’re in.”

On what a win at Crewe would do for confidence:

“The fans have travelled all over the country this season and we haven’t repaid them for that, so we need to give them something to shout about.

“We need to start by running our socks off from the first minute to the last on Tuesday.

“It’s a massive game for us but just because it is the next chance for us to get three points.

“If we perform how we know we can and get a result there it would breathe fresh confidence into us.”
