Branden Horton spoke to the media after the 1-0 win at Scunthorpe United in the Emirates FA Cup first round.
The 21-year-old came on as an early substitute for the injured Joseph Olowu and put in an assured display at the Sands Venue Stadium.
On his own performance:
“I knew I had to be ready to come on and thought I did well when I got my chance which is pleasing.
“I’ve been working hard and putting everything I can into training so the manager will see what I can do.
“He saw me as the right man to come on and hopefully I did enough to impress him.”
On getting a win:
“It was a big day for us because we wanted that winning feeling to be back in the dressing room.
“We’ve got a lot of injuries and it is tough but that’s football and we just have to get through it.
“Winning brings momentum and no matter what competition it is it will help the lads moving forward.”
