Stephen Martin will be the man in charge when Rovers travel to the University of Bolton Stadium on Tuesday.
The Staffordshire-based official is a Select Group Two official – meaning he mostly operates in the Sky Bet Championship.
He began refereeing in 2003 before first running an EFL line in 2007. He was promoted to the National List of Assistant Referees in 2008.
This will be just the second time he has overseen a Sky Bet League One. He was in charge when Wycombe Wanderers registered a 2-1 win over Crewe Alexandra. He handed out three yellow cards – all to the Railwaymen.
On Saturday, Martin will be assisted by Nik Barnard and Geoffrey Liddle. Trevor Kettle is the fourth official.
