Officials confirmed for Burton Albion

25 November 2021

Peter Wright will be the man in the middle when Rovers face Burton Albion this weekend.

He last took charge of a Rovers game at the end of the 2020/21 season overseeing a defeat to Peterborough United in a match when the football was secondary and celebrating James Coppinger’s 17-year career at Rovers was front and centre.

Wright was promoted to the National List of Referees ahead of the 2018/19 season taking charge of two Rovers matches that season – a 1-0 away defeat against Accrington Stanley and a 1-1 away draw with Blackpool.

He is a regular visitor to the Keepmoat Stadium overseeing three matches there last campaign, but this is the first time he has taken charge of a Rovers game in the current season.

So far this season, Wright has overseen 16 matches handing out 50 yellow cards and one red.

On Saturday, he will be assisted by Andrew Hendley and Thomas Harty. Mark Cunliffe will be the fourth official.
