Richie Wellens spoke to the media ahead of this weekend’s game against Lincoln City in Sky Bet League One.
Rovers have lost just one of their past six games in all competitions and could move to within two points of their opponents with a win at the Keepmoat Stadium.
On coming up against Lincoln:
“I’ve got a lot of time for Michael Appleton, he had a bad injury as a player which meant he went into coaching really early.
“He’s been fantastic at Lincoln, they had a good team last season and were unfortunate not to go up through the play-offs.
“They lost a lot of their players so they are on a bit of a rebuild which takes time to do.”
On turning solid performances into three points:
“With the exception of the Charlton game our game plans have been good and we should have had more points.
“Joe Dodoo has got goals when he’s played down the middle but he’s had to be used out wide with the injuries we’ve had.
“He’s trained really well and probably benefitted from the break we’ve had since the Scunthorpe game.”
