Bostock staying positive

19 October 2021

John Bostock spoke to the media ahead of Rovers’ trip to face Gillingham on Tuesday night.

Rovers are looking to get back to winning ways in Sky Bet League One after defeat at home to Wycombe Wanderers last time out.

On keeping a positive mindset:

“Everything gets measured on results but in our performances there has definitely been progress.

“We’ve been in the majority of games and the morale in the group is still high.

“We don’t want to look too far ahead because the only thing we can do is deal with the game in front of us.”

On using his experience to help his team mates:

“We’ve taken a lot of rough so far and hopefully there are smoother days to come.

“I’ve realised that often you go through things that are difficult and those experiences can help you to advise others.

“It’s hard to accept but you’re not going to play at your best every week, so it’s important to cancel that out with your effort during a game.

“The way the experienced lads carry themselves is key because that is how the young lads learn how to develop.”
