Cukur absolutely buzzing with first professional goal

Tiago Cukur was delighted to get have scored his goal for Rovers in the 2-1 win over MK Dons.

The forward was told to make an impact by manager Richie Wellens as he replaced Joe Dodoo on the 77th minute. Just two minutes later, he was on the scoresheet with what would prove to be the winning goal.

On how he felt to get his first goal: 

“I’m absolutely buzzing to have opened my account for the club. A late goal that wins the game makes it feel even better. 

“The gaffer asked me to make an impact and I feel I’ve done just that.” 

 

On how he assesses his development:  

“I’ve had to wait a long time to get this goal, but for my first one to be the one that wins the game makes me very emotional.  

“There’s still so much to come from me but I am gradually getting there.” 

 

On the reaction from the Ipswich defeat:  

“We’ve bounced back well from the Ipswich game and that’s what football is about. 

“Richie Wellens came in on Thursday with Noel Hunt and James Coppinger and just got everyone on the same page. We’re all working towards the same objective at the club and we’re all highly motivated.”
