Craig Hicks will be the referee in charge for Rovers’ next league game at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
It is almost a year since Hicks last officiated a Rovers league game - a 2-1 home defeat to Crewe Alexandra in October 2020, the game’s only yellow card was distributed to Rovers.
Hicks’ last Wycombe match was in January 2020 when he covered their 2-1 home win over Rochdale.
Out of the ten games he has overseen this season, Hicks has given just one red card - to Salford City’s Brandon Thomas-Asante for two bookable offences.
Hicks is from Surrey and has refereed for 20 years. He has covered English Football League games since 2017.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by Paul Graham and Gary Hilton. Carl Boyeson will be the fourth official.
