Richie Wellens spoke to the media ahead of Tuesday night’s trip to Gillingham in Sky Bet League One.
Rovers head to Priestfield Stadium looking for their first away win of the campaign.
On an important run of fixtures:
“We want to close the gap on the teams above and these games coming up will hopefully help us do that.
“We’ve probably put more pressure on ourselves to win these games, as we would have liked to be six or seven points better off.
“It’s a tough league and you only have to look at the likes of Charlton and Ipswich who haven’t quite clicked yet as proof of that.”
On dealing with Gillingham’s strengths:
“The only motivating factor is to get three points against a team close to us in the table.
“It will be similar to Saturday in the physicality they have, they’ve got energy in midfield and you need to win first and second balls against them.
“We may have more possession than them but we have to be good in transition and not allow easy balls forward.”
