Rovers Academy will be special guests at the first-team’s Sky Bet League One match against Morecambe on Saturday.
The aspiring footballers aged eight to 18 will be in the stands for the match and will be introduced to the fans at half-time as part of the celebrations.
The game will also act as the official signing on day for the brand-new cohort of U9s while the club will also celebrate the U10s who missed out on their signing on day last season due to COVID-19.
Academy manager Tony Cook said: “We want these young players to feel connected to the first-team and see the pathway that is ahead of them.
“Saturday is going to be good for us to showcase the Academy in front of the home fans. It’ll be a proud moment for the coaches and parents. For the young players, it will be a moment that they never forget.”
First-team manager Richie Wellens added: “We’re looking forward to having the Academy players join us at the stadium for the Morecambe game.
“It will be brilliant to see the club’s future players in the stands and around the ground..
“I’d also like to congratulate all the U9s who will be officially signing to the club on Saturday. They’re taking their first steps towards being a regular first-team players at the club and that’s an exciting moment for any young footballer.”
