Club Doncaster undergo staff restructure

24 September 2021

A staffing restructure has taken place which will support and improve the day-to-day running and operations at Club Doncaster and provide additional support for its elite teams: Doncaster Rovers, Doncaster RLFC and Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Group head of marketing and communications Shaun Lockwood has taken on a new role as Club Doncaster’s chief operating officer. This will see him take overall responsibility for the running of the stadium and matchday operations. Shaun will support both the club’s senior executives and chief executive Gavin Baldwin.

Head of commercial Jon Warburton has taken on additional responsibilities as he becomes chief commercial officer. In this new role Jon will focus on developing high level strategic commercial opportunities across all areas of the Club Doncaster family.

In addition to driving innovative ways of creating revenues, the commercial team will continue to focus on growing and developing the 100 Club, a partnership scheme that serves as a network for local, regional and national businesses to work together in support of the club.

As well as the above appointments, there has also been a change to the structure of youth sport at Club Doncaster. This change will see the Doncaster Rovers Training Centre, Doncaster Rovers Academy, and Doncaster Belles Regional Talent Centre move under the guardianship of Kirsty Cavanagh and the People and Culture department.

As well as ensuring the safeguarding of children and young people, it also means that these areas of Club Doncaster are well supported to be able to move forward and create innovative ways to support elite sport within the club.
