Joseph Olowu says he’s excited to show what he can do in a Rovers shirt after signing for the club.
The powerful 21-year-old has penned a deal until January 2022 after impressing while on trial in recent weeks.
He said: “I’m really excited to get the deal done, it’s been a long summer for me but I’ve kept working in the top this time would come.
“To get this opportunity is something I’m grateful for, patience has been the key and something I’ve learnt in the past few months.
“With everything that’s going on with the pandemic you have to take your time and keep believing that a move will come.”
With injuries to central defenders Tom Anderson and Cameron John, Olowu is ready to go if called upon for Saturday’s game at Wigan Athletic.
He added: “In football nothing is guaranteed but I’m coming here with the right mentality and hoping I can make a difference.
“I love defending and the physicality it brings, and then I’m capable of bringing the ball out from the back.
“I’ve had a good upbringing at Arsenal and they play football the right way there, so hopefully I can show what I can do here.”
