Paul Green appointed Rovers' fitness coach

30 September 2021

Paul Green has been appointed as Rovers’ new fitness coach after the departure of Rob Lee.

The former Rovers midfielder has a lot of experience working with young footballers through his business A1 Football Factory. A1 works to develop the overall game of players with a focus on improving and maintaining fitness something which Green will aim to replicate for the Rovers first-team.

Green also brings with him a wealth of football knowledge from his playing days both at club level and on the international stage for the Republic of Ireland.

He said: “It’s great to be back where it all started for me as a player, to return as part of the coaching staff is brilliant.

“I’ll be looking after the players from a fitness point of view, the day-to-day side of things is really important for them in keeping their levels high.

“I got my qualifications a few years ago and it’s an area of the game I’ve always been keen on.”

Chief executive officer Gavin Baldwin added: "We're delighted to have Paul back at the club.

"With Paul, Richie and Copps, we believe we have a team of ambitious, young people who have the club's best interests at heart and who are determined to bring stability, longevity and success to Doncaster Rovers.”

Everyone at the club would like to thank Rob Lee for his efforts since joining the club and wish him the best in all his future endeavours.
