Tommy Rowe spoke to the media after scoring the winner against Morecambe in Sky Bet League One.
The 32-year-old popped up nine minutes from time to head home Ben Close’s corner and secure Rovers’ first victory of the campaign.
On having that winning feeling:
“We’re delighted to get the win, it’s something that has been on our minds for the last few weeks.
“Our performance wasn’t brilliant but sometimes you just have to grind out a result and we did that.
“Football doesn’t always go the way you want it to and we’ve not had the best start but we’ve kept working and got our rewards.”
On the work done on set-pieces:
“We know the quality Ben Close has from set-pieces and we’ve worked on getting in good areas.
“The ball was right and I timed my run well, once I was in the position I backed myself to score.
“Paul Gerrard spent a lot of time with us in attacking and defensive set-pieces so he deserves a lot of credit.”
