Richie Wellens was proud of his side who made it back-to-back home wins against Manchester City’s U21s.
Goals from Joe Dodoo either side of the half cancelled out Sam Edozie’s early goal.
On the result and performance:
“There are some outstanding footballers in the Man City team. For their age group, they are world class players. They went to Scunthorpe and won 3-0. We put in a great performance.
“Our front three were excellent, but all round I think it was a brilliant performance from us. We should have been five or six goals out of sight with the chances we had.
“I enjoyed watching the game as I thought it was really good.”
On Dodoo’s performance:
“His work rate is exceptional. He is a good lad who wants to improve. He is an integral part of the group.
“Joe has the potential to grow into a leader. He has been at some big clubs and has a chance to develop here.”
