Williams on loss at Wigan

12 September 2021

Ro-Shaun Williams spoke to the media after the defeat at Wigan Athletic in Sky Bet League One.

Rovers were narrowly beaten by the Latics despite a spirited display at the DW Stadium.

On the disappointment of defeat:

“We’re all disappointed because we’ve come away with nothing despite the hard work we put in.

“We needed to keep the lead longer after scoring, their biggest threat came from set pieces and we made it too easy for them.

“We spoke at half-time about doing the things that got us ahead and continuing to work to the game-plan.”

On being partnered by Joseph Olowu:

“It’s a difficult start with a lot of injuries, I’ve had a few different partners which makes it difficult.

“Joseph came in and played well, I enjoyed being alongside him and you can see his potential.

“I’ve been around the league for a while so I’ll do what I can to help him learn about the level.”
