Bostock reflects on defeat at Wycombe

3 April 2022

John Bostock was disappointed to come away from Wycombe Wanderers without any points, despite an encouraging performance from Rovers.

Gary McSheffrey’s side dominated possession throughout the game and had plenty of chances, but a clinical Wycombe came away with the three points in the end.

On the defeat at Wycombe:

“We dominated possession and created a lot of chances.

“But that does not matter at the end of the day if you do not come away with the points so we are disappointed to come away from Wycombe with nothing.

“We played well as a team and we moved the ball forward and caused Wycombe a few problems.”

On his first start since his injury:

“It has been a long time out. I have been hungry to be back out and amongst it to help the team out.

“I was happy to be back but disappointed we have not come away with any points.”

On the outstanding support from Rovers fans this season:

“The fans have been unbelievable. It has not been an easy season for anyone at the club and it hurts that we cannot give the fans what they deserve often enough because they have been terrific home and away all season.

“As players we really appreciate the support. From the warm-up to the final whistle they were cheering us on.”
