Hurst buzzing with first professional goals

21 August 2022

Kyle Hurst is buzzing to have scored his first professional goal as he fired Rovers to victory over Salford City.

Rovers went 1-0 down to the Ammies but a brace from Hurst earnt Gary McSheffrey’s side three points and fired them to three straight home wins, and five unbeaten in Sky Bet League Two.

He said: “It felt unbelievable to have scored my first professional goal. It was made even more special by the fact that it has helped the team win.

“Today has proved to me that I am capable. It has been the best experience in the world.

“All I can do is learn from the likes of Adam Clayton and Lee Tomlin. They and some others are always coaching me and giving me advice."

Hurst joined the club in the summer from Birmingham City after a successful trial, and is proud to be a part of the club.

He added: “Players and staff are all supportive and we have a good network. It’s a special place to be. I am proud to be a part of the club.

“I have learnt so much since I arrived. I am always learning and today was a prime example, adapting to the injuries we picked up during the game.

“The lads are buzzing and it was great to see the place rocking at full-time. We are grateful to the fans for sticking with us.

“It’s been a great start and I am loving every second of it. I am loving being part of this club.”
