James Oldham will be the man in the middle when Rovers take on Newcastle United U21s in the Papa John’s Trophy on Tuesday night.
The Derbyshire based official was added to the EFL list of referees at the start of the 2019/20 campaign, and first refereed Rovers in a 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in February 2020.
Last season, Oldham was in charge of 30 games in total, handing out 119 yellow cards and four reds during that time.
Oldham will be assisted by Nik Barnard and Wayne Grunnill at the Eco-Power Stadium, James Bancroft is the fourth official.
