Rovers U18s go three unbeaten with a draw against local rivals Rotherham United.
The game finished 1-1 with the goals coming early doors in the game. Chad Gribble’s side took the lead against the Millers through Ethan Harrison in the first six minutes. Rovers' lead was soon conceded with the Millers equalising on the 10-minute mark.
In the first three minutes, a substitution was made for Rotherham following an injury, and a minute later a corner was given to Rovers which was taken by Jack Goodman. The Millers' defence was challenged as Rovers used strong attacking techniques which enabled them to maintain a positive pass rate and make a few shots.
Harrison scored a goal for Rovers six minutes into the match, giving the team an early lead but they were later pegged back by the Millers. Rotherham’s U18s gained a free kick, following a tackle made by Will Flint, which led them to score a goal at the 10-minute mark.
Rotherham had a throw-in a couple of minutes after their goal, but Will Flint and Alex Fletcher challenged it and managed to win back possession of the ball.
In the 31st minute with Rotherham bearing down on goal and looking odds on to score, Alex Fletcher tackled the Millers player dispossessing him and clearing the ball – keeping the scores level.
When half-time came around both teams were left battling for possession and several shots on goal were made by both sides.
The second-half began and both sides were hungry for another goal with Chad Gribble making one change at the break with Harrison coming off for Max Adamson being brought on for the second week in a row. On the 61st minute, Harry Wood came on for Jack Raper. The substitutions that were brought on made a positive impact on the game.
In the second-half, Rotherham threw everything that had in Rovers' direction, but Gribble's side stood up to the test and remained resolute.
