Andrew Kitchen has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Rochdale on December 29.
The Durham official has taken charge of 18 matches this term, with the majority coming in Sky Bet League Two. He has issued 40 yellow cards and one red across those games.
This will be his second outing of the season refereeing a Rovers game, having taken charge of the 2-1 win over Salford City at the Eco-Power Stadium in August. He has previously handled Rovers on two occasions - both coming last season; the 3-3 draw at Shrewsbury Town and the 2-1 home win over MK Dons.
Kitchen will be assisted by Wayne Grunnill and Joe Simpson on Thursday while Jacob Miles has been assigned fourth official duties.
