Reo Griffiths spoke to the media following the 2-1 win at Sunderland in Sky Bet League One.
The 21-year-old netted the opener on his full Rovers debut at the Stadium of Light, to set his side on their way to a crucial three points.
On his goal:
“The ball was bouncing in front of me so I had to wait for the right moment to shoot, fortunately I picked the right time and it went in.
“It was a good finish on my weaker side. I practice it a lot in training and I was so happy to see it go in.
“We felt their fans turn a little bit after the goal and the atmosphere wasn’t as strong, which helped us to push on.”
On a solid team performance:
“It was a massive performance from the boys, we dug deep and I thought defensively we were brilliant.
“We stuck to what the manager wanted from us and earned a big three points.
“It was a disappointing result in midweek and we had to bounce back, we did that and came away with a very good win.”
