Jackson ready for Rovers challenge

4 February 2022

Ben Jackson says he is up for the challenge ahead of a trip to Sunderland in Sky Bet League One this weekend.

The left-back joined on loan from Huddersfield Town at the end of January and has made two appearances off the bench.

On Sunderland:

“It is a test but it’s exciting as well. We know it’ll be a big crowd at a big stadium.

“We know the result they had against Bolton Wanderers and we had similar against Rotherham United so we’ll both be looking to bounce back from that disappointment.

“We just have to go out there and attack the game really.”

On personal goals at Rovers:

“I wanted to get out and play football.

“It didn’t matter that Rovers were bottom of the league, I just want to come here, play games and help out.

“I’m hoping to get game time, and learn about play senior football in League One.

“The plan is to do as well as I can here and help Rovers as much as possible.”

On staying positive:

“You’ve got to stay positive. I just want to get on the pitch and help the team.

“The standards are high in training, there are lots of players with lots of technical ability and it’s just about bringing all of that together on a game day.”
